| 1998-12-15 | A few days ago, I talked with Joe O'Reilly (Mary's husband and Manager).
He told me that Mary is now resting from her USA tour, which she thinks was a big success.
She will also be recording some new songs in the next two/three months. The new album will NOT be "Hidden Harvest". The title is not known yet, but they hope to release it before the summer of 1999. The "Hidden Harvest" CD is delayed undefinitely (whether it will be released someday, Joe couldn't tell me). |

This album is supposed to include several songs Mary already recorded in the past, but which have not been released before. |

This album contains several songs from several of Mary's earlier albums and of the Black Family album. I don't know a definite song list. I someone buys this album in the USA, please let me know the tracklist. |
| 1998-9-26 | U2, The Corrs, Boyzone, Van Morrison, Phil Coulter, The Hot House Flowers,
Brian Kennedy and Mary Black will all feature on a new album entitled Forgotten Angels.
The collection of tracks will also include Christy Moore singing Daddy Swing Me High, Phil
Lynott singing Sarah and Clannad with Christmas Angel. The album is being put together in aid of Temple St. Childrens Hospital in Dublin and all cash raised will be going towards vital hospital equipment. The album is being released on October 5th. All the artists featured on the album have donated their tracks free of charge, with a donation of £10,000 from Enya to cover production costs. |
| 1998-9-5 | On the Mary Black Mailinglist, Ray mentioned that Mary Black and her band have been on the British Channel 4 News. They were playing at a peace concert in Armagh, N.Ireland directly prior to the arrival of President Clinton. Ray also hear from Mary at a concert in Dublin, that in September, Mary and the band are going into the studio to record a new album. |
| 1998-9-5 | According to Jim Hayes and Charlene Costello, a CD was released this year called The Folk Scene Collection. This inncludes a live performance of "Columbus" by Mary Black and her band. The CD (RHR CD 109) came out this year on Red House Records, P.O. Box 4044, St. Paul, MN 55104 USA. Also featured are live or radio studio performances by Richard Thompson, John Gorka, Iris Dement and Maura O'Connell. |

| 1998-8-11 | I have some sad news. I just heard that Frank Gallagher's father had died last Wednesday. Frank has been part of Mary's band for several years now. Eleanor McEvory has taken over for Frank in several of the concerts last fews days. I hereby would like express my regrets to Frank. |

Go to http://www.ktca.org/newsnight/newsnight.html and search for the edition of June 17th 1998. That brings up the realvideo of the newscast. Mary's interview and performance starts at about 13 minutes into the program. First you will hear a part of Summer Sent You after which the interview starts. Then she will sing a NEW song called Give a Little Now At the end of the show you also hear By The Time It Gets Dark. |

As you all (may) know, Declan was also the one who produced most of Mary's albums and helped her in the beginning of her carreer, until he decided two years ago to leave Mary and the band. |

| 1998-1-16 | Charlene Costello told me that a new CD has been released here called "Long Journey Home", which is a soundtrack for a documentary miniseries on the Irish in America. Mary Black has one song on it: Paddy's Lamentation. It's a new version she recorded of her old De Danann tune from the Anthem album. |
