I have just seen Mary perform in her 'Speaking with the Angel' tour at the Royal Centre in Nottingham (England). I found her really quite uplifting and profound. Her vocals speak of misty mountain-sides and the mystery of romantic Irish Landscapes. Skipping from track to track, memories are ushered from past, present and future experience. Coming from the tradition of Celtic folk music Mary carries no baggage, while inviting you into her characteristic charm and grace. "spirits in the bones, and memories in the stones." Attending this concert was a really moving experience, and left me with a yearning for and desire to listen to more of this very sincere music. Mary gives her all and everthing, while being backed by first class musicians. This blend of love and spirituality overcomes modern day cliches and provides uplifting metaphors and ideas. Altogether a wonderful evening provided by a very gentle and talented lady.
