It was in 1991 when I heard Mary's voice on the local radio in Fresno where I used to live. Fresno is a mid-size town in central California and not much of world's arts and music is exposed to people... I guess it was the right time for me to discover a new kind of music, the kind that would be soothing and profound... I had just lost a dear close friend and I was in need of something different... So, there I was listening to "No Frontiers" and I had no idea how madley I'd fall in love with her voice-- her music... I kept calling the station and requesting her songs... Soon I was searching the shops for her other CDs-- Soon I started buying duplicate copies as gifts for friends and family-- introducing her to all I knew, sending tapes all over the world, from America to The MiddleEast... Soon I realized that her voice has touched me deep inside my soul-- Soon I knew "I was hooked on MARY BLACK"... I'm a very loyal person by nature and I do keep my faith in the things that I cherish and value... Mary's gift is something that would stay with me for the rest of my life... Last month I had the privilege to meet Mary twice after her concerts and all I know is that she is even more wonderful in person than her voice... I love you Mary Black, Never stop singing.... Amir. ----

Poem by Amir:

Mary Black, I'm filled with you... filled with your voice, reaching deep inside my soul... I'm humbled by the words you sing, I cherish the feelings you bring... I hear you and I'm all emotions, then I ponder upon love and devotions... Listening to you feeds my hunger soul, then I need soothing no more... Your voice heals my wounded heart, cause I'm from a land that is torn apart... (Iran) But your songs take me to the core of existence, where there's no boundaries, no fear... Where there's no frontiers... Mary Black... I love you... Never stop singing... Truly, Yours... Amir.
