I am also living in Northern California (Sacramento). I grew up in Ireland which is where I heard Mary first. Irish radio stations play a variety of music, unlike radio stations in the states that tend to stick to a certain genre of music. I heard Mary all through the 80s while I was a teenager and not interested in folk music at all. A visit home in 1997 caused me to become interested in her music and although I would not consider her my favorite, I have come to appreciate her sound. Treasa
