Here is my who, where, when story. Most you of probably heard of me, but now I will tell you a bit about myself. My name is Mark van Setten, I live in Almere in the Netherlands (which is about 30 kilometers from Amsterdam). I am 27 years old. I first saw and heard Mary on a video tape I rented at the library. This tape was a show called "Song For Ireland". On that tape Mary sings "Hard Times" and "A Song For Ireland" with De Dannan. After I heard "Song For Ireland" I went looking for the music of Mary Black. My first albums was "Collected". That was around the time of the "Holy Ground" release. I think I bought every album of her in about six months (expect the first album, which I bought a year later at the first concert of Mary I went to). I now have been five times to one of Mary's concerts. Especially the last three were very great. At the first of them, I met Mary for the first time (what was I nervous). The second time was so great: Before the concert I talked 45 minutes with Mary, I sat on the front row and Mary dedicated one song to me (I asked her to sing "The Moon and St. Christopher"). Also during "Summer Sent You", at one point she sang "summer sent you..." and pointed directly to me. After the concert I also got to talk with her. She then invited me to be her guest at the next day concert. So there I was, seeing her two days in a row. After the second day concert, I spent about 2 hours with Mary and the band in the artists pub of the concert hall. I had such a great time. Now I am waiting for the new album and February 2000 when she will come to the Netherlands again (it already one and a halve years ago I saw the last concert). Regards, Mark.
