Chat with James Blennerhassett

After the successful chat session with Mary last March, we now have the honor to welcome James Blennerhassett in our chat room. James is part of Mary's current band and he plays bass and bass guitar. You can read more about James in his musician's page here on the website.

The chat session with James will be held in the night from Friday 29 November on Saturday 30 November. The exact date and time depends on your location in the world. The chat session will take about one hour. This time, you don't need to ask for a username and password upfront. The chatroom will remain open for everyone (because last time, several people had problems entering the room with their given username and password). Just go to the chatroom here on the website, choose a username, don't fill in a password and enter the chatroom. If someone else is already using the username you choose, you will be asked to use another login name. You won't be able to login using the names mark or james, as these are reserved (and password protected) for the webmaster of this website and James Blennerhassett himself.

Also different from the last chat session is that this time you don't need to send in your questions beforehand (although you may want to think about them yourself upfront). I will try to lead the session as best as possible. Please try to follow the following rules and tips:

  • Try out the chat room at least once before the chat session. Try to login, to send one or two messages to the chat room (even if no one else is there) and try to logout. This is just to be sure that the chat room works on your computer. If not, please make sure you webbrowser allows java applets to be run. If you have any problems, please let me know at webmaster@mary-black.net and I will try to help you much as possible.
  • Remember that James cannot answer multiple questions at the same time. So we will try to have only one person ask a question at the same time.
  • If you want to ask a question, please send the message "Raise Hand" to the chat room only ONCE. I (Mark) will take note of all those who want to ask a question.
  • When it is your turn to ask a question, I will let you know that it is your turn.
  • Also give James and others time to answer or ask their question.
  • James is free to decide if he doesn't want to answer certain questions.
  • When someone keeps sending "Raise Hand" messages or keeps disrupting the session, I will ban that person from the chat session (but I assume that we are all resonable adults, so this won't be necessary).

The transcript of the chat session will be made available on this website a day or two after the session.
